McDonalds Breakfast!!!!

My sole quest for the past two weeks has been to find a McDonalds that serves breakfast. After hours of failed attempts and hopeless salivating, I finally called McDonalds HQ in Sharjah. The woman wasn't very helpful, but here is the supposed holy grail of lists:

DUBAI MCD'S BREAKFAST LOCATIONS:

Jumeirah Nr. Open Beach (344 0911)

Al Nasr (Deira) 221 9499

Al Hassa (SZR, across from Time Square)  883 2636

Spinneys Bur Dubai 359 2213

Dubai Media City  390 8277

ENOC Gardens  82 4538

ENOC Jebel Ali  883 4821

Best of luck. If any of you have tried it, please let us all know.

not according to JD's review of the sandwich on some other forum. According to him, it miraculously tastes the same. I'm going to try it this week. I will let you all know how it tastes.

Slater, McDonald's breakfast beats any other breakfast option hands down.

So being American and moving to Dubai, McDonald's not serving breakfast was the epitome of "I never really wanted it before but now that I can't have it I want it" syndrome.  I definitely noticed a banner at a McDonald's in Jumeirah a few weeks ago and kind of spazzed over McDonald's having breakfast.  Granted, no, it's not the same.  The sausage biscuit was not pork sausage and the "biscuit" was an English muffin (as opposed to REAL biscuits which the Middle East has yet to figure out).  The hash brown was good and according to the menu they also serve various egg Mc's and pancakes.  Now that Media City supposedly has it... I will investigate tomorrow.

Mcdonalds breakfasts are only good for one purpose, when you wake up following a mamoth night on the booze and require something really bad and un healthy to eat to make you feel slightly better!!!

Speaking of breakfasts - I've never found anywhere that beats the amazing delis that they have in New York. They are like a cross between a coffee shop/bagel shop/sandwich bar/juice bar but with so many options, everything tailored just the way you want it, and great fresh produce.

So for instance you can have a toasted sesame bagel, with crispy bacon, a runny egg, no butter, ketchup on one side and a tiny splash of may on the other, with ground pepper on the egg. Heaven.

The really good ones have self-serve salad and fruit salad counters and even hot food counters which serve everything from lasagne to chinese food. From lunch to diner to post-drinking snacks, you never need eat anywhere else.

Does anyone know of somewhere like that in Dubai? I've never found anywhere like that outside of New York. I quite fancy owning a deli like this though, so if there are any hungry investors out there ...

That said, a Maccy D's brekkie is always a pleasure.

You feel better for about 10 minutes... then the McDonalds Guilt kicks in and you vow to avoid the golden arches for another six months.

Too true Helen... but sometimes a little bit of what is bad for you is good for you, don't you think? I can't imagine getting MacDonny's every day or even every month, but you can't beat it every now and then. Can't really do the breakfast thing though - since I don't eat meat or eggs. So I guess I'd be stuck with a hash brown and cheese muffin.

Slater - since you eschew MD's, where would you take us for breakfast?

I would take you to saladicious next to Satwa, it does the best eggs benedict ever. The only thing it lacks is proper British sausages
