1 Utama
This suburban mall caters to families living in the neighbourhoods of Bandar Utama, Tropicana, Kota Damansara, Mutiara Damansara and Bandar Sri Damansara, and gets extremely crowded at weekends. The old wing caters more for teenagers and kids, while the new wing features international brands and swanky restaurants. In the old wing you’ll also find Jusco department store, Marks & Spencer, Edmunser and Tanjung Golden Village (TGB) Cineplex. In the new wing, you will find Parkson, Giant, GSC Cineplex, MPH Bookstore (two floors) and some international designer brands such as BCBG Maxazria, CK, DKNY, Dockers, Zara, as well as Ms Read for larger sizes, and British India (its store in 1 Utama is the largest). You will find high quality funky street wear and smart casual outfits. Khazanah offers a beautiful selection of colourful organza table runners, curtains and cushion covers in a fusion of Indian and Middle Eastern styles. You can find organic foods and toiletries at Country Farm Organics, or work out in Celebrity Fitness, a popular gym with a hip environment and evening yoga and dance classes. Dragon I in the new wing, Oriental Cravings and Peranakan Place are all excellent restaurants if you’re stopping for dinner. At peak times, the easiest place to find parking will be the lot outside the new wing (Giant) where there is a flat rate (hourly rate applies for indoor parking). There is a taxi stand outside. The mall adjoins One World Hotel. The Aeroline coach to Singapore leaves from 1 Utama, and there is also a bus service to Genting Highlands.
