Kuwaitis love shopping and spend hours wandering around the many malls. Most malls are well equipped with restaurants, food courts, coffee shops, children’s play areas, and most have a cinema. Many of the malls are very lavish in design with marble flooring, fountains, high ceilings, and of course air-conditioning. Parking is mainly outside and is free, although some malls now have a valet service due to the limited spaces available. Most malls are open all day (some close between 13:00 and 16:30) but tend to get busy after 20:00 and close at around 22:00. Most malls don’t open until 16:00 on Fridays. During Ramadan the timings change and its best to check the local paper as many stay open later. Individual shops have sales but the biggest sales are usually in February and during the summer.
