Electronic tickets and check-ins are practically the norm when it comes to travelling within the United States. The process is incredibly simple and you can do it even if you have luggage to stow (as opposed to just having carry-on luggage). It saves you the hassle of queuing and queuing – and queuing some more. International travel is now more often e-ticketed (that means that you get an email confirmation with your flight details and at check-in you either present a copy of the email or just your passport). Because of customs, passport control and increased security regulations, international flights do not allow electronic check-in, so take a number and practise your patience while you stand in the check-in queue.
