Male and female hockey players from ages 5 to 20 can find a team affiliated with this association. There are a number of tiers within each age group to accommodate a variety of skill levels. Associated leagues are located throughout Metro Vancouver for both genders, including in Burnaby, New Westminster, Richmond, North Vancouver, West Vancouver and the city. To play in the Vancouver Minor Hockey League costs $325 for the youngest division (born in 2002) up to $650 for the juvenile division. For ‘atom level’ and up, skating skills are required. For the Vancouver Girls Ice Hockey league, players in the novice division (ages 5 to 8) pay $350, while the midget level (ages 15 to 17) pay $600 a player. A jersey deposit is also required.
